Streamed meeting a hit

Live streaming of last night's New Plymouth District Council proved a popular move, it would seem.
Following the meeting, council communications manager Nick Maybury said close to 100 people had watched at least part of the meeting on the internet.
That's a bigger turnout than is usually seen in chambers.
And while the councillors weren't beyond a little bit of electioneering for the camera, they may have to learn to speak up a little.
The meeting was interrupted when a note was passed to Mayor Peter Tennent.
"Councillors, we've been asked to speak a little more clearly into our microphones," he advised.
"We've had a phone call from a woman on Courtney St who can't hear the debate properly."
Last night's meeting was streamed live to the internet for the first time as part of a trial.
