An 18-year-old male has been charged with burglary after a Department of Conservation building was broken into last night.
Senior Sergeant Allan Whaley said a window at the Rimu St, New Plymouth, premises was smashed around 8pm and cans of drink and coffee taken from the kitchen.
A police dog tracked the man down less than 50 metres from the building, but a possible second offender escaped.
The man is to appear in New Plymouth District Court today.
