Today's launch of Peter White-Robinson's retrofitted Navy patrol vessel has hit a snag with the 34 metre luxury yacht stuck on the Lee Breakwater boat ramp.

All was going well with the launch until it snagged on the ramp at the final hurdle.

Fitzroy Yachts owner Mr White-Robinson said he didn't know what had gone wrong.

He was worried the vessel could tip over with the outgoing tide.

Low tide today is at 3.50pm today.

The vessel, which weighs about 140 tonnes, could not be floated until high tide tonight at 10.

What do you think of Maori trying to restrict access to the breakwater?

It's a ridiculous move and won't help.

Good on them for standing up for themselves.

It's a non-issue since they can't fully cut off access.

Don't know, don't care
