An aircraft was struck by lightning as it came in to land at New Plymouth Airport yesterday.
An Air New Zealand spokeswoman said the Air Nelson Q300 aircraft was flying from Auckland to New Plymouth and had 45 passengers on board.
The aircraft landed without incident, she said but was currently being repaired, as it sustained several burn marks.
