Stock rustlers have been helping themselves to sheep in North Taranaki.
North Taranaki Rural Liaison Officer Constable Rhys Connell said thieves had butchered sheep from two farms in the Uruti area and left behind the offal and the heads of the sheep.
He said stock rustlers ran the risk of eating meat which could be poisonous if the sheep had recently been drenched.
