The case of a Whanganui police officer charged with seeking sexual favours from a motorist has been transferred to New Plymouth for the hearing of pre- trial applications.

Hayden Clifford Bradley, 30, appeared in the High Court at Whanganui yesterday and was remanded on bail to appear in court at New Plymouth in December.

He is charged with asking for sexual favours from a woman in return for not charging her with a driving offence. He was suspended from work in February.

The lower drink-driving limits from December are:

Great - too much carnage on our roads.

Overkill - targets moderate drinkers, not the heavies

Still too little - make it zero tolerance.

Sensible - punishment is in line with lesser breaches of limit.
