A Waitara man has been sentenced for three raids on the town's foodbank.

Labourer William George Tauma'a, 30, appeared in the New Plymouth District Court this week.

He was convicted of three burglaries of the foodbank, possession of drug utensils and sentenced to four months community detention, 120 hours community work, nine months supervision and ordered to pay $930 in reparation.
