A heavy rain warning has been issued for Taranaki with up to 90 millimetres of rain expected to fall by 3pm today.
Rainfall of 20 to 25mm per hour is forecast for much the day but is expected to ease later this afternoon.
The Taranaki Regional Council is warning people that rivers and streams may rise rapidly.
