Police investigations into an alleged assault on New Plymouth clamper Daniel Clout by district councillor Andrew Judd are still in progress.
Westown police Sergeant Terry Johnson said police were still speaking to witnesses and piecing together what happened.
Mr Clout has claimed he was assaulted by Mr Judd and a business associate last Tuesday morning after he clamped a Judd Opticians customer parked in a private car park in King St.
However, Mr Judd said he had been acting in self defence.
