A hunter was flown to hospital after slicing his hand gutting a deer in rural Taranaki bush at the weekend.
The Taranaki community rescue helicopter was called to the scene, near the Bridge to Nowhere, about 10.30am on Saturday and transported the man to Wanganui Hospital with a serious laceration.
"They were worried he had cut an artery and might bleed out," helicopter crewman Phil Dwyer said.
