A teenaged girl was dragged off a bus and assaulted by two girls outside New Plymouth's Centre City yesterday.

Sergeant Ross Wright said the attacked happened about 5.30pm.

"They've basically got her off the bus and started punching her," Mr Wright said.

Two girls aged 14 and 15 have been charged with assault with intent to cause injury and will appear in New Plymouth Youth Court today while a 17-year-old female will appear in the district court charged with receiving stolen property.
