LATEST: The New Plymouth airport has been re-opened after two days of cancelled flights.
Hundreds of travellers to and from Taranaki had their plans disrupted by low cloud which closed New Plymouth airport for the past two days.
The cloud rolled in late on Tuesday, marking the beginning of the travel chaos that has continued right through yesterday and again today.
New Plymouth airport manager Kevin Hill said travellers booked to fly in to Taranaki had been bussed to the airport, but there were no bus services for travellers heading out of the region.
''The weather front that is causing all of this has still to pass through, so we suggest that anyone who has to catch a connecting international flight should drive,'' he said.
