Murray Chong's promised protest against various practices at the New Plymouth District Council will now be held next month.
In October the New Plymouth businessman said he would lead a protest through the city after council chief executive Barbara McKerrow got a 2 per cent pay rise and a Wellington company was given the contract to install the Festival of the Lights.
Yesterday Mr Chong, who plans to stand for council in 2013, said he had been overseas and it was too close to Christmas to stage the protest this year.
