Taranaki Rescue Helicopter Trust calls last week:
December 3: Mid-morning patient transfer for medical reasons to Waikato Hospital. Returned with a patient for Taranaki Base Hospital.
December 4: Urgent patient transfer to Auckland Hospital for diagnosis. Returned with a patient for Taranaki Base Hospital.
December 7: At first light, the Taranaki Community Rescue Helicopter took a patient suffering burns to Waikato Hospital. Returned with a patient to Taranaki Base Hospital.
December 8: Just before 7pm, a personal locater beacon was activated in the Mangatawa region. A patient had suffered injuries having fallen 20m down a bank while mountain biking. The winch was used to drop a St John paramedic to the scene so the patient could be loaded into the aircraft on the ground.
December 9: Attended the emergency services day held at East End reserve. The helicopter was also dispatched after reports of three overdue hikers near Dawson Falls on Mt Taranaki. The aircraft took in two search teams and a radio operator. Search teams found the hikers, and they walked out overnight.
