One of Taranaki's five most wanted was arrested during a police search this morning.
Robert Hills, 44, and another man in his 40s were arrested at an Opunake Rd property and are likely to face drug related charges, Detective Sergeant Greg Gray said.
Hills disappeared in November after being charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.
Acting central communications Inspector Bruce Mackay said police went to the property earlier this morning to execute a warrant and called the fire service when they noticed a chemical smell.
"They've called in the clan lab (clandestine lab) crew to go through the house," Mr Mackay said.
"If it is a lab (p-lab) they will know."
Mr Gray said there were definitely chemicals at the property, but it was too early to tell whether it was a p-lab or not.
The property is being ventilated and police investigations are continuing.
