Fine, fine, fine, dry, dry, dry and a little bit windy - that's your weather forecast for the coming week.

MetService forecaster Philippa Murdoch said sunshine and warm temperatures are on the cards for Taranaki while an area of high pressure sits over the country.

"It's not moving anywhere quickly so the weather will stay settled.

"It's looking pretty nice."

While the sun will be out it is not likely to match the heat of the Christmas and New Year holiday period when the region sweltered, including several days when the mercury hit 30 degrees Celsius.

Like much of the rest of the nation, Taranaki will continue to hit the mid-20s on the thermometer and possibly reach as high as 27C from next Wednesday to next weekend.

Night-time temperatures are forecast to be between 13C and 16C.

Will Aaron Cruden's omission hurt or help the All Blacks?

Hurt - he needs as much game time as possible.

Help - finally Beauden Barrett will get a proper run.

Hmmm - no biggie, just a temporary hitch.

Who is Cruden? I support the All Whites.
