An iconic ice cream, a secret surf spot or a calf-clenching mountain climb, what will it be?

The polls have opened again for Taranaki residents to cast a vote for their favourite activity in the region.

Venture Taranaki is calling for contributions from Taranaki people on what adventures, experiences and activities they think are the region's "must dos".

The competition last took place in 2010, with a helicopter flight over Mt Taranaki coming in at No 1, followed by Dawson Falls in Egmont National Park, the TSB Bank Festival of Lights, New Plymouth Coastal Walkway and Pukekura Park.

Venture Taranaki's general manager, visitor industry, Paul Stancliffe said VT staff were regularly asked about the favourite things to see, do, eat or drink in Taranaki.

"The time has come to update the content to ensure it reflects the favourite aspects of our region, so we're going back to the real experts to find out what's great about Taranaki - the residents," Mr Stancliffe said.

You can vote for your "must dos" by filling out the form in the Taranaki Daily News and mailing it in to Venture Taranaki, by completing an entry form at one of the region's i-SITE Visitor Information Centres or at Venture Taranaki, vote online at www.taranaki.info/mustdos or by emailing info@venture.org.nz.

Everyone who votes will go into the draw for a Taranaki prize pack, featuring prizes from many of the region's top attractions and activities.
