The death of 122 cows on a Taranaki farm in December has been ruled an accidental poisoning by the Ministry of Primary Industries.

The ministry has completed its investigation into the deaths on Chris and Catherine Cook's Oeo farm.

The final report is due for release in the next two weeks and no further action will be taken.

MPI compliance manager Wellington/Taranaki Mike Green said witnesses and test results had shown the cows were accidentally poisoned, drinking contaminated water from a tank previously used for putting chemicals on to farmland.

Yes, and use the money for local projects.

No, the farms are a good long-term investment.

Sell a portion of them.
