An injured runner was winched off Mt Taranaki this morning by the Taranaki Rescue Helicopter.
Rescue helicopter crewman Jayden Strickland said the woman was rescued from near the Razorback ridge up from Egmont Rd shortly after 9am this morning.
The woman had rolled her ankle while out running with a training partner and had to be winched off the mountain, he said.
She was not part of the Mt Taranaki open climb which was being held today, he said.
The woman's running partner was left on the mountain to carry her bag back, Mr Strickland said.
