Resealing work at Mt Messenger delayed
Resealing work at Mt Messenger due to start on Tuesday has been postponed.
New Zealand Transport Agency highway manager Ross I'Anson said the roadworks, which were dependant on dry conditions, were planned for the New Plymouth side of State Highway 3.
"We have already had to reschedule this work several times as we need two to three warm and dry days in a row."
But rain is in the forecast, so the road works have been postponed.
"While initially we thought we would have good weather for the next couple of days, our contractors have advised us there is a risk the seal will not set in time before the forecast rain later in the week," I'Anson said. "We will provide a further update when the maintenance work has been rescheduled."
