A fraudulent shopping spree came to an end for two women when they were arrested in Hawera yesterday for passing fake cheques.
The women, aged 40 and 36, have been cashing in cheques worth about "a couple of thousand dollars" in a number of Taranaki supermarkets, Senior Sergeant Blair Burnett said. They will appear in Hawera District Court on September 17.
