The storm is over.
A heavy rain warning issued for Taranaki by Metservice yesterday was lifted this morning.
Thunder and lightning last night was accompanied by 32mm of rain which fell at the Taranaki Regional Council's Brooklands Zoo monitoring site in New Plymouth yesterday.
Stratford got drenched with 47.5mm and Hawera got off lightly with a sprinkling of only 10mm at Kaupokonui at Glenn Rd.
Mt Taranaki recieved 165mm of rain at the North Egmont Visitor Centre, 177mm at Dawson Falls and 109mm at Kapoaiaia at the Kahui Hut.
Emergency services said they had not received any weather-related callouts.
Today's forecast is for showers and fine breaks.
