Taranaki shellfish are safe to eat again.
Today the Taranaki District Health Board lifted a public health warning and removed signs from the coast which advised against collecting or consuming shellfish from Mohakatino to Motunui.
Regular testing of shellfish will continue to make sure increases in toxin levels are found quickly.
For more information about the safety of the shellfish, people can contact a Health Protection Officer toll free at 0508 834 274 or visit http://www.foodsmart.govt.nz/food-safety/hunting-collecting-fishing/seafood-gatherers/
