A fake Tui billboard has popped up at New Plymouth's Mt Bryan Domain, known as Pig out Point, rubbishing the removal of the bins.
The homemade sign was first seen this morning and says, 'What do you think of our Parks and Reserves? "Rubbish?" Yeah Right!'
Kevin Whiteman, a New Plymouth District Council worker, saw the sign when he had his lunch at the popular spot today however on his return an hour later it had been knocked down, "I did have a bit of a chuckle" he said, even though it got in the way of his mower.
"It looks like a piece of rubbish," Brett Nicholls of New Plymouth said as the billboard lay sprawled on the ground. "It's nice to see it [Pig Out Point] clean at the moment, it's a nice spot, quite relaxing," Mr Nicholls said.
NPDC Parks Manager Mark Bruhn said the sign would be removed this afternoon.
Since bins were scrapped in September garbage has continued to spoil the popular area and many councillors had already marked the issue as a priority, saying they wanted the bins back.
