A former Taranaki man charged with the stabbing murder of Desroe Bishop at Opunake three months ago has been further remanded in custody.
Interim name suppression for the murder accused, Shiloh Mareikura, 33, of Ohakune has now lapsed.
Following a short hearing in the High Court in New Plymouth this morning, Justice Paul Heath - appearing on video link - further remanded Mareikura in custody for a case review on February 15 when a trial date is expected to be decided.
Mareikura, dressed in a blue hoodie and jeans, stood quietly in the dock flanked by a prison officer during the hearing.
Police allege that Mareikura stabbed Mr Bishop to death at his Opunake home about 5.30am on September 5.
