A Taranaki truck driver was taken to hospital after his truck and trailer rolled on State Highway 3A yesterday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene 200 metres north of the Waiongana Bridge shortly before 2.30pm.
Sergeant Stephen Richardson said a truck and trailer were heading south and lost control.
The 26-year-old male driver was injured and taken to Taranaki Base Hospital.
The truck's load of fertiliser was spread on the highway and the truck was half on the road and half in the paddock, Mr Richardson said.
Emergency services worked to clear the fertiliser from the road and a crane helped to clear the truck.
The road was reopened at 6.15pm.
Police also responded to an incident on State Highway 45 near Oakura after a car crashed through a fence into a paddock.
The female driver in her 60s sustained moderate injuries and was taken to Taranaki Base Hospital for treatment.
