Figures released by Trade Me show Taranaki job opportunities are on the rise.
This comes after data released last week by online job advertiser Seek lauded the region as having the fastest growing job market is in New Zealand.
Jobs in Taranaki advertised on Trade Me in the fourth quarter were up 26 per cent compared with the same period last year.
This put the region at third place in New Zealand for job growth on the website, after West Coast (up 44 per cent) and the Nelson and Tasman region (up 28 per cent).
"Over 2013, we saw around 3500 roles listed on Trade Me Jobs for the Taranaki region and 900 listed over the last quarter of 2013," Trade Me head of jobs Peter Osborne said.
"Most of the Taranaki region jobs are in New Plymouth and we saw real year-on-year growth there, up over 28 per cent on the same period last year.
"The average salary in New Plymouth was also almost $61,000, which is the fourth highest average salary nationally."
The highest full time salaries were advertised in Wellington, with an average of more than $75,000.
Auckland came in second, at $74,600 and Whangarei took third place at nearly $62,000.
Nationwide, the highest paid jobs were for doctors and healthcare specialists, with an average salary of $146,596.
Mr Osborne said IT and engineering were among the highest-paid sectors in Taranaki.
