LATEST: The cause of a power cut to parts of Taranaki this morning is under investigation.

Powerco Network operations manager Phil Marsh said power was cut to around 9300 properties at 8.35am.

The areas affected included Egmont Village, Fitzroy, Frankleigh Park, Glen Avon, Highlands Park, Hillsborough, Hurworth, Junction St, Korito, Lepperton, New Plymouth, New Plymouth City, North Egmont, Northgate, parts of Oakura, Okato, Omata, Waiwakaiho and Westown.

All power was restored by 9.15am and the cause of the fault remains under investigation.
