Power tools worth $30,000 were taken in a burglary at PlaceMakers Hawera early on Sunday morning.

Sergeant Ivan Smith said a large tandem trailer was also stolen around the same time from a Hawera business address and a Suzuki RNZ 250 motorcross bike was taken from a Skeet Rd address.

Mr Smith said there was a strong possibility the three incidents were linked and that there was more than one offender involved. Anyone with any information can contact the Hawera police station on 06 278 0260 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Do you have faith in police solving burglaries?

Yes - there's no faulting their commitment.

Mostly, but they are under-resourced.

Sort of - depends on when and where.

Not really - clearly a low priority for them.

Absolutely not.

Not sure - luckily I've never been burgled.
