New dog judges earn their keep

New judges were put through their paces at the Mangaehu- Stratford Sheep Dog Trial Club's maiden day.

The long head was judged by Tony Price, Paul Martin judged the short head and yard and Brad Bielski was the zig zag huntaway judge.

Results from the maiden day were: Long head, B. Gower and Hone 1, P. Martin and Maid 2, D. Murphy and Ruby 3; short head and yard, J. Googan and Tinks 1, Joe Bishop and Flame 2, S. Hann and Doug 3; zig zag huntaway, L. Bishop and Dude 1, A. Roche and Nig 2, D. Murphy and Realm 3.

The Taranaki season gets under way with the Whangamomona club's event on Wednesday and Thursday, followed by the Mangaehu-Stratford trial on Friday and Saturday.
