A truck driver was airlifted to hospital with moderate injuries after rolling his rig just north of Mokau this morning.
Police, fire and ambulance services attended the scene on State Highway Three after a furniture truck rolled onto its side just after 10am.
Mokau firefighters closed the highway briefly to allow the Taranaki rescue helicopter to land while ambulance staff treated the driver.
Police sergeant Guy Callahan said the truck was blocking one lane and the driver was air lifted to Waikato hospital.
The road has been cleared by a crane.
