A smattering of rain in Taranaki yesterday was a welcome break from a long run of sun but no substantial showers will be appearing to mark the beginning of autumn today.
However, temperatures will drop as summer ends with the MetService forecast for Taranaki fine today with a high of just 19 degrees Celsius, dropping to 10C overnight.
Similar temperatures and settled weather can be expected for much of the coming week.
