A helicopter ride, artworks and signed rugby jerseys are being sought for an auction fundraiser for the Child Cancer Foundation.

Real estate agent Kris Rasmussen , of Professionals, is calling for Taranaki people to donate items for the upcoming breakfast and charity auction on April 11 at The Mayfair.

Mr Rasmussen hopes to raise $10,000 for CCF.

"We're looking to get as many items as possible," he said.

Community feedback had been really good, Mr Rasmussen said.

"As soon as people hear the Child Cancer Foundation, they know what it is."

To date, a heatpump and installation package, a one-day fishing adventure, and a playhouse measuring 2.4 metres by 1.8m have been donated.

A bed and breakfast voucher for two, four corporate tickets for a day at the races, dinner for two at Okurukuru and work for a website design are also among the items for grabs.

Mr Rasmussen said Professionals has been supporting the foundation for 20 years.

"We take from the community and we want to give back," he said.

What do you make of New World's Little Shop toys?

I agree with Gareth Morgan, toys are 'brainwashing' kids.

They're harmless fun.

They're educational.

Cunning marketing but not brainwashing.
