Fire at river mouth

Two fire engines attended a blaze in driftwood at the Waitara river mouth today.

Station officer Murray Andrews said a crew from Waitara was called to the fire just after midday and an engine from New Plymouth also attended.

Andrews said firefighters were at the scene for about 45 minutes.
