A New Plymouth house has sold for a record $1.85 million.
The Fitzroy beachfront house, on Hamblyn Street, was sold to a local buyer by Harcourts' Jack Kurta late last month.
''Its location is one of the best in town,'' Kurta said.
The estate agent said the house's beach access could never be built out.
In March last year an Oakura house was sold by TSB Realty agent Beau Burmester for $1.8m, a then record price for a Taranaki residential property.
