New exhibition: Artist Philip Jones with some of his work, including one of his daughter Devaux Fabish-Jones.

Artist Philip Jones, also known as Suspect, is about to hold an exhibition, which will help fund his trip to South America.

His exhibition, called Addiction is Dedication, runs from June 20 till 28 at the J D Reid Gallery above the Metro Plaza on Devon St.

"I need to make as much money as possible before I leave the country. I'm gone for three-and-a-half months on a painting trip through South America," he said.

"The exhibition is dedicated to my daughter, who I won't see for three months while I'm travelling.

"I'm going to miss her. That's the hardest part of going, but I've never travelled to this degree and it's something I've wanted to do my whole life."

His exhibition features pieces using techniques including airbrushing, wood burning, aerosol and redesigned skateboard decks.

Many of his works feature stars who have had addictions.
