This photo taken in 1982 is of a mural entitled 'Waiting' by Sonia Van Kerkhoff. It is situated near the corner of Hobson Street on Devon Street, New Plymouth.

This photo taken in 1982 on the city transport depot building wall facing St Aubyn Street, is of 'The Ballet Dancers'; a mural by New Plymouth artist Don Driver. The mural was one of a series completed in the city that year under the programme coordinated by Govett-Brewster Art Gallery director, Dick Bett.

Taken in November 1984, Inglewood High School students (from left) Wayne Hotton (15), Joanne West (13), Nerida Bunning (14), Shelley Whelan (14) and Michelle Gyde (15), are brightening up the town's public toilets with a scenic mural. The mural painting was part of an outdoor education programme to wind up the school year.

This mural at the Ministry of Works and Development depot in New Plymouth's Smart Road was painted in 1985. Pictured in front of a completed section are two of the artists, Marie Salter (left), who also designed the mural, and Patrice Aplin, both of New Plymouth.

Pupils from St Joseph's School in Opunake in front of a mural painted by local artist Audrey Quin in 1988. The mural was sponsored by the Queen Elizabeth II Arts Council and was designed by Miss Quin and the school's pupils.
