Injured Sugoi should recover

Heelan Tompkins' top eventing horse, Sugoi, should be back in action early next year.
The pair, who competed at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, were eliminated when Sugoi was found to be sore after competing in the dressage phase of the four-star international three-day event at Adelaide early this month.
It was initially thought there could be tendon damage, which would impact on plans for the horse to compete at Kentucky in the United States in April.
"We took him to the vet clinic at Takanini for X-rays straight after he got off the plane," Tompkins said.
Those X-rays revealed the horse had suffered a slight fracture of a splint bone. "But they said there was no sign of any scarring or tendon damage, which was a relief," Tompkins said.
She said Sugoi would be given a six-week spell and hopefully be ready to come back into full training some time in January.
