Athletes young and old were in record-breaking form at the TET Athletics Taranaki track and field championships in Inglewood at the weekend.
A total of 15 records were broken, with 10 going the way of the Egmont Athleticsclub.
Ray Pearce had a smashing time, breaking records in the men's 65 years shotput, discus, javelin and hammer, while Vicky Adams broke her own records in the women's 55 years 400m and 800m, as did Scott Alexander in the men's 16 400m.
Clubmate Sophie Munro extended her own triple jump record for women's 16 years with a leap of 10.95m and, although going more than a second faster than the record in the 200m, was unable to claim it because it was wind assisted.
Janelle Wright lowered her record in the women's 16 100m hurdles.
Eltham's Zoe Hobbs sliced almost a second off the girls' 13 years 80m hurdles time, Stratford's Des Phillips set a record in the men's 60 years 400m and Hawera's Aeron Mellish hurled the javelin out to a record in the women's 16 years.
The Taranaki Race Walking Club trio of Rachel Gilberd (women's 35), Vanessa Lowe (women's 45) and Anne Fraser (women's 50) walked their way to records in their respective grades of the 3km walk.
