New Plymouth Girls' High School's Kendra Hartley took out the under-18 girl's section of the Taranaki Secondary Schools Surfing Championships yesterday.
A total of 86 surfers from nine high schools competed in the Shell Todd Oil Services sponsored event, held at at New Plymouth's Back Beach.
RESULTS:
Under 14 boys, M McLeod (Waitara HS) 1, T Barbarvitch (WHS) 2, M Watts (NPBHS) 3; under 16 boys, H Porter (WHS) 1, S Kettle (NPBHS) 2, J Kettle (NPBHS) 3; under-18 boys, T Watts (OpunakeHS) 1, C Jones (NPBHS) 2, J Bishop (OHS) 3; under-16 girls, L Walsh (SHGC) 1, H Davies (OHS) 2, E Croton (SHGC) 3; under-18 girls, K Hartley (NPGHS) 1, T Hesslegrave (NPGHS) 2; under-15 body boarder, R Stone (Coastal) 1, D Sharrock (FDMC) 2, T Bennett (OHS) 3.
