WHITE WATER: New Plymouth Girls' High School's Kendra Hartley slices through a wave on her way to winning the under-18 girl's section of the Taranaki Secondary Schools Surfing Championships.

New Plymouth Girls' High School's Kendra Hartley took out the under-18 girl's section of the Taranaki Secondary Schools Surfing Championships yesterday.

A total of 86 surfers from nine high schools competed in the Shell Todd Oil Services sponsored event, held at at New Plymouth's Back Beach.
