Bell Block's Charlotte Webby has broken her own Taranaki record in the 100m butterfly at the first leg of the Asian section of the Fina World Cup short course meeting in Singapore.
Webby finished sixth in the final in a time of one minute 1.66 seconds.
Her 800m freestyle time of 8min43.44sec secured her fifth in the final and her best time without the full body suit, which is now disallowed.
Webby saved her best for last with a bronze in the 200m butterfly in a time of 2min10.58sec, 4/100s of a second outside her New Zealand record.
Webby and coach Donna Bouzaid flew to Tokyo yesterday to swim in the next round of competition tomorrow and Thursday.
Also in Singapore, New Zealand's Melissa Ingram had two more podium placings.
Ingram won the 400m freestyle and finished third in the 100m backstroke final behind American Natalie Coughlin in a slick 58.42sec. Her winning time in the 400m freestyle was 4min5.91sec, just outside her own New Zealand record. Ingram won the 200m backstroke and finished second in the 200m freestyle on Saturday.
