Team Taranaki striker Josh Herlihy showed his reputation on scoring goals is warranted when he blasted a hat trick to propel his team to a comfortable 6-0 win over bottom of the table Levin in a Western Premiership football game in New Plymouth on Saturday.
On a muddy Western Park pitch, Team Taranaki finally got their scoring boots on in a confidence boosting performance after going down 1-0 to Palmerston North side Red Sox when poor finishing let them down in their previous game.
The veteran of the team at 34, Herlihy was made the most of the opportunity to play up front with regular striker James Graham away overseas, slotting two goals in the first half before blasting another into the back of the net early in the second spell to make it 5-0 and seal the game before being subbed.
Team Taranaki's other goals came from a double from Damon Mosquera - one in either half with the second a screamer - while the other was a own goal in seventh minute.
Team Taranaki's latest win puts it third on the competition ladder behind Palmerston North Boys' High and Red Sox.
