Auction to aid quake-hit club

The Bell Block Marist rugby league club is holding a fundraiser to help out a sister club in Christchurch affected by the earthquakes.

Marist are to play a Western Alliance competition match against Western Suburbs Tigers at Hickford Park on Saturday.

Club spokesman Vinnie Hill said his club had received sponsorship from ISC Lenco, which has supplied them with a specially designed red and black strip that the Dragons players will wear.

The jerseys will be auctioned at the club's end-of-season prizegiving ,with all proceeds going to the Marist club in Christchurch.
