Taranaki finished fifth at a women's junior representative bowls fixture in Whanganui yesterday.

The six-team competition was won by Manawatu, who collected 30 points out of a possible 40 from the five rounds.

Wellington were second on 29, followed by Hawke's Bay (28), Whanganui (15), Taranaki (11) and Kapiti (7).

Taranaki's best performed player was Lilac Pouwhere, who finished with three wins and a draw.
