Taranaki field strong championship lineups

Taranaki will field both a men's and a women's team at the New Zealand senior hockey championships in Wellington next week.

The Taranaki teams have been boosted by a number of players who are at universities in Hamilton, Palmerston North and Wellington. The women play in pool A against teams from North Harbour, Southland, Canterbury and Wellington, while the men play in pool A against teams from Tasman, Canterbury, North Harbour and Tauranga-Bay of Plenty.

The first game for the Taranaki men at the National Hockey Stadium in Newtown on Monday is against Tasman, with the Taranaki women first up against Wellington.
