The interschool rivalry between New Plymouth Boys' High School and Francis Douglas Memorial College popped up again this week.

Boys' High were rightly proud of their two boys - Lachlan Boshier and Reuben O'Neill - being selected in the New Zealand secondary schools' rugby side.

Coach Glen Hannah said Boys' High was the only school in Taranaki to ever get two boys in the team in the same year.

But Francis Douglas Memorial College coach Steve Simpson was quick to point that while Boys' High may be the only school to get two boys in the team at one time, his school had three players selected in 2008 - Rick McKenna, Todd Curtis and Kane Barrett.

While on the subject of rivalry between the schools, bragging rights are with the year nine boarders rugby team from Boys' High, who beat their Francis Douglas counterparts 117-8.

There's no disputing that.
