Taranaki's Isaac Kettle on his way to a second place in the under-14 boys' competition in the 2012 National Scholastic Surfing Championships at Fitzroy Beach yesterday.

The Bay of Plenty Junior Surfing Team claimed an emphatic victory at the 2012 National Scholastic Surfing Championships completed at Fitzroy Beach yesterday.

Bay of Plenty regained the team title it has now held for five of the past seven years.

Taranaki finished fourth in the teams event, Gisborne third and Auckland placed second.

Kettle was placed second in the under-14 boys' final.

Third place went to Josh Farr.
