New Plymouth's Denay Cottam won Cycling New Plymouth's 50km graded cycle race over the Okato-Wiremu Rd circuit on Saturday.

Cottam stopped the clock at 1 hour 23 minutes. Second home in the A-grade event was Tony Brownrigg.

Veteran Barry Marnoch dropped all but one rider on the last climb to win the B-grade section in 1hr 28min, while John Bowie battled best in the wind to take out the C-grade short course in 1hr 3min.
