Taranaki has a mixed bag of results heading into day three of the 2012 Freyberg Masters golf tournament at the Maraenui course in Napier.
After a first-up 3-2 win over North Harbour on Monday morning, Taranaki had to settle for a 2 -2 draw against Aorangi in the afternoon.
After a bye in yesterday's third round, Taranaki were pipped 3-2 by Canterbury in the afternoon. Taranaki had a chance to draw the match with No 2 Murray Martin all square in his match against Canterbury's Andrew Dufton, but he lost the par-five 18th to go 1-down.
No 1 Aarun Langton won his match against Canterbury's Scott Ritchie 1-up, with Brian Martelletti, at No 4, winning 2 and 1 against Paul Bailey. No 3 Tony Hardy lost 5 and 4 to Aaron Forsyth and Robbie Sim, at No 5, went down 6 and 5 to Jason Sincock.
Today, Taranaki play Poverty Bay-East Coast, with all teams having the afternoon off. The round-robin tournament ends on Friday.
