Taranaki driver Brad Still was in winning form at the WPKA Goldstar Series at the Manawatu Raceway in Palmerston North last weekend.

Still started his 2012-13 campaign as the defending champion in the Yamaha Lights class and won the day in the division.

The cadets battled hard but could not match the pace of two Manawatu drivers who took the top two placings. Matthew Podjursky was third in the junior Yamaha class and Brendon Jury was sixth.

Ben Thom was third for the day in the Rotax Max light class.

Derek Lawrence finished second overall after a break from sprint racing.

The grand prix races were fast and furious, with Thomas Boniface second in the cadet grand prix, while Brendon Jury drove a faultless race to win the junior Yamaha race, with Podjursky third.

Aaron Marr finished second in the senior race ahead of Scott Williams and Still.

Round two will be held at the Waitara track on December 1 and 2.

Opinion poll

Will Aaron Cruden's omission hurt or help the All Blacks?

Hurt - he needs as much game time as possible.

Help - finally Beauden Barrett will get a proper run.

Hmmm - no biggie, just a temporary hitch.

Who is Cruden? I support the All Whites.
